Money Makes The World Go Round

Yes, believe it or not people, money is the essence of life. It is what enables us to buy our daily needs, enables us to afford luxurious item, and where necessary, enables us to engage on services. Without money, we are better off living the life of a baboon. Now, by money I do not mean hard cold cash; money can be interpreted as a form of currency such as bartering. Regardless, the concept of currency is materialism. Materialism. That word sounds immoral or even makes one look like a cheap individual. But no, materialism is good. Considerate materialism.

Think about it, one way or another, we have to sacrifice something in order to obtain something of equivalent value. Money for a television, work for money, energy for work, etc etc. It's a cycle of life, and quoted from FMA, it's the principle of "equivalent exchange".

So, to conclude, our live revolves around the presumption of this law of  "equivalent exchange" right? Wrong. Fact is, we do not know the true value of anything. Hell, we don't even know the true value of ourselves, yet we dare place a price tag on an object? So, how are taxes calculated? How are resources divided and sold? Well, let's just say a wise guy from the past made up an entire system for this and hence we just treat it like an additional limb after thousand of years of ignorance.

However, my beef is not with the "true value" of an item, no. It is the misuse of said item that pisses me off. Here in Malaysia, we are a religious bunch, and I am fine by that if it weren't for all the damned misuse of fortune. Lets face it, our government is a run by a bunch of monkeys claiming that know what's best for the citizen of this country. And what is worst than a country being run by monkeys? a country run by religious monkeys. Granted that most of them are muslim, and this is an islamic country by paper, some of their "decisions" are plain absurd. Case in point, mosque. Now don't get me wrong, what you wanna do within the confines of your sacred rendezvous point is up to you, but seriously, do you REALLY need to blow BILLIONS of dollars to erect said confines? How paranoid are you? What? if the walls are made out of diamonds it'd be a better antennae to relay your wishes to your God? How absurd. That money is better spent feeding the poor of this country. It's fine to have a grand community hall where you can compare clothes, brag about your kids and pretend to uphold a sense of righteousness, but please, one is enough. We don't need two white elephants sitting still waiting for Hari Raya to come, we have better use for the tax money we pay you know.

They say poverty is not an issue that can be resolved overnight. I say it is. If politicians learn to stop being corrupt and actually making right, smart decisions every once in awhile, we wouldn't have people living in the streets. I have always been against spending shitload of money for building excessive religious centres; not only for the muslims, but even for the taoist, buddhist, christian, and so on. There is just no practical need for them, why not give that money to people who really need it?
Why not allocate them to science and human progress?
Why confine our mind to those of the early 14th century and live in a lie?
Why be deluded?
What is the practical use?
Think about it the next time you "donate" to a church/mosque/temple/wat/etc
